Day 2 on the Warrior Diet

I felt great on the 2nd day, and did not feel hungry. The night time overeating phase definitely satiates the mind as well as the body. Daytime consisted of a glass of fresh carrot/pineapple/cucumber/celery juice, later on in the day, a handful of raw almonds, and 3 celery stalks with organic peanut butter (probably about 5 hours apart.) Lots of water, and black coffee, too. Nighttime consisted of 7 egg whites and 3 egg yolks. 1 whole bell pepper, 1/2 onion, 1 can of salmon, 1/4 cup of crushed almonds, 1 cup of brown rice, and 1 cup of ice cream for dessert. (It was a good hunt-kill :) )

The workout prior to the meal was simple but it felt good.

JM drills
Swings 24kg 1 X 10

C & P (long cycle) 24kg
Rite of Passage ladders
(1,2,3,4,5) x 1
(1,2,3,4) x 2
No rest between reps, left then immed. to the right.

Short and sweet and then it was time to eat!

Nice workout. Is this from the new "Enter the Kettlebell" book?

BTW, the dinner sounded wonderful :)

Haven't given the warrior diet too much of a chance personally. I tried it a couple of years ago and got so hungry so I returned to my frequent meal eating.

having those juices during the day is perfect. I need to get a juicer. just keep doing that and you are set, ice cream included!

franz, the key is using fats correctly during the day to offset hunger til your bodya djusts. its not for everyone but there are ways to transition into it more painlessly.

Yes, the idea was from Enter the Kettlebell, but I need to re-read the chapter on ladders. I was doing it all wrong (by the book, at least.)

Rif, is right about the fats during the day. I use a handful of raw almonds for the fat during the day. I start the day with the juice which seems to keep my energy level stable. Drinking alot of water with coffee and/or tea seems to keep my hunger pangs non-existent until I know it is time to eat.

I will do my workout right before I eat, in my mind, to mimic the physical activity before the "kill" so that the "feast" coincides post hunt/kill.

Rif, I have both a pricey Omega 8002 juicer, and a Jack LaLanne juicer (the big model...I got it at Costco for $89!)For ease and quick juicing and cleanup, you can't beat Jack! I was a little put off becuase I bought the smaller Jack juicer from the tv, and it burned out after a year of daily juicing. Getting a replacement for the lifetime warranty was a bear. But it juiced great. Costco has a great return policy, so I decided to take the plunge again, and have been juicing away every morning before work.

Overall, mentally, knowing I am going to have a large filling meal helps to get through the day, and I can focus on other matters. I find that I am not sleepy during the day as opposed to the way I had been eating, and I have already dropped 4 lbs. I know it is just water weight, but that is fine, too.

excellent pete. having a strong mental image helps the motivation big time. if there is a reason fo the suffering it is nowhere near as bad.

the separation of work time and rest time is nice as well. eating= rest. nice.

be prepared, the weight is goint to fall off.

Come out to plaaaaayyyyy! Too funny, Ken :) I get teased at work from my co-workers about being on this diet. Of course, they tease me about kettlebells, too. I know it's just brotherly teasing because when it comes down to serious discussion about training, they are all ears.

I am going in for Lasik surgery this morning. My training will pause for a few days depending on how I feel. I can't wait to ditch the contacts/glasses for good!
